This two-hour tour is the perfect opportunity for those looking to experience New Hampshire's rocky shore, taste fresh oysters straight from the ocean, and paddle with a trained kayak guide. We'll explore Little Bay, a tidal estuary located just outside of Portsmouth, NH, near the mouth of the Piscataqua River. The tour starts in Durham, NH where there is an abundant diversity of aquatic wildlife from shellfish and shorebirds that inhabit the area. Itinerary: 1. Welcome and Paddle Introduction (20 minutes) 2. Kayak ~1 Mile along the rocky shore observing wildlife along the way (binoculars available on request) (30-40 minutes) 3. Arrive at the Hidden Coast Shellfish's floating dock to take a break from paddling, learn about oyster farming, and enjoy fresh picked oysters! (30 minutes) 4. Kayak back to meeting point, keeping an eye out for wildlife and learning about the history of the area along the way (30-40 minutes) What to bring: -Close-Toed Shoes- Old sneakers work great -Moisture wicking t-shirt (Synthetic and wool are great. Cotton only in hot temps) -Shorts/ Bathing Suit (that covers your thighs to avoid sun exposure while paddling) -Hat -Sunglasses -Sunblock -Reusable Water Bottle -Raincoat (on rainy days) What Not to bring: -Electronics (phone is OK) -Valuables -Clothing with cotton (it makes you really cold when wet) What we will lend you: -Lifejacket (must be worn at all times while on the water) -Kayak -Kayak Paddle -Dry bags upon request Note on kayaking: No kayaking experience is required, however, this trip involves physical activities including getting in and out of a kayak onto a dock. Your tour guide has a tow rope that they can attach to your boat, or they can paddle in a double kayak with you. All tour logistics will be discussed at length in the paddle introduction at the beginning of the tour. Please note that there is no bathroom at the meeting point (which is confirmed after you register). Please reach out with any inquiries about the trip. Cheers! Paul Kelley (PK)
